The next time you're driving the Motor Mile, you'll notice dirt moving on the old Sam's Club site. That's because the long-planned Bolden Street District broke ground, and site and infrastructure work is underway.
The 92-acre site east of the Laurens Road corridor — from Haywood Road past Verdae Commons Drive — aims to be a "vibrant, connected, and pedestrian-oriented destination." Verdae Development Inc. (owned by Hollingsworth Funds) will create a walkable district with homes and apartments, retail shops, offices, green spaces, and improved connectivity to the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail.
The project will roll out in phases, with plans for dining, shopping, offices, residences, public gathering spaces, and green space. |

Christ Church Episcopal School (CCES) is celebrating eight seniors who have qualified as National Merit Semifinalists in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Competition: Isabella Agnew, Nicky Arzt, Jerry Gan, Logan McCarthy, Kate Purtle, William Roye, Sheamus Schellinger, and Jonathan Thompson.
The students represent more than academic achievement, bringing their talents to the arts, athletics, music, and leadership. Agnew, Gan, and Thompson are national Ethics Bowl Team champions. Gan and Purtle serve on the Greenville County Youth Board. Agnew and Thompson took first place in the South Carolina Theater Conference, and Arzt is on the Junior Olympic fencing team. McCarthy reached the highest level in the USA Gymnastics Development Program, and Schellinger was named an Outstanding Attorney by Youth in Government. Gan is a three-time All-State Orchestra inductee and serves as the Cavalier mascot. Roye is a nationally ranked lacrosse player and is committed to play for Cornell University.
At CCES, students are encouraged to pursue their passions both inside and outside the classroom. The independent, co-ed day school in Greenville serves students from Primer (K5) through Grade 12. |
